Located in the prairie pothole region, with continuous WMUs from Olds in the north to Chin Reservoir in the south and from west / east Lethbridge to 40 mile Coulee Reservoir. The area contains many reservoirs and thousands or wetlands that stage millions of Canada Geese during their migration. The southern portion contains two rivers and deep reservoirs that remain open through the end of the season, making for some great late season "honker" shoots and full plumaged Greenhead Mallard shoots. Some of the best upland hunting for Hungarian partridge.
This area provides the opportunity to hunt 19 species including; Canada Geese, Mallards, Pintails and American Widgeon. Early in the season there are opportunities to shoot Greater White-fronted Geese, while later in the season Snow Geese are more prevalent.
Alberta allows for morning and evening shoots with the season beginning around the first of September running through late December and there's no limit on the number of hunting groups.
