Bonaparte Territory N. of Kamloops

This one is located in the Caribou, certainly renowned for cowboys, rainbow trout, and just a great place to hunt. This one will give you an opportunity to take several games species and yet have time to throw a fly and catch a rainbow. One of the nicest parts of the province and certainly one of the easiest to guide in. Easy access to everything. This is a great territory whether you’re just getting into the business or augmenting one of your other territories.
Here comes the punchline. Cats: cougar, lynx, and bobcat. These critters are getting to the point where they’re real money makers. What’s new to the industry? Bunches of hunters wanting to take a wolf. Between cats and wolves, your winter is going to be a bit busy and quite profitable. The best part is this is generally outfitters’ off-season. Makes for a lot of fun for those clients wishing a bit of excitement behind some hounds. Of course, that’s not all though. Once you get around to the spring you can take a bunch of bear hunters. Oh boy, this is really a tough job to do; grab a truck or quad and drive slowly around the territory, find a couple of those green patches and wait. Oh, there’s one, I can see it now, take him he’s a good one!
Hold on there’s more to this territory than that. What about those mulies and whitetail? That’s right there’s some pretty nice deer in this area and that’s been proven over and over again. Tie that in with a little rainbow fishing and you have a winner. This territory has many fabulous lakes and potholes where you can take rainbow on a dry fly. That fall season is one of those times when those fish like to stock up on growlies to get ready for winter. This is a great combination and helps sell a few more trips with little or no effort. Of course, there’s moose too. With fewer and fewer moose available in the province, you have a couple of moose to tide you over, but don’t give these critters away, they’re worth far more today. Nothing like a little mulie hunt, rainbow fishing, and moose.
Well, a fellow has to have a place to stay and this territory offers just a bunch of choices to put your main camp. That’s right, get a spot somewhere on a lake and call it yours. Build yourself a nice little cabin, do a little hunting, a little fishing, guiding out of it, put your feet up by the woodstove in the fall, what could be better?! Well, for some of us, winter is playtime, so say you had a cabin and a sled, I don’t mean one of those ones your father used to push you on, I mean a sled that goes quick, fast and it’s just a whole bunch of fun in the snow. You might even use that sled for hunting cats, what a revelation!
I’m selling myself on this one…come get it before it’s got a sold sticker on it!
