Territory West of Quesnel
Here’s the one you’ve been waiting for!
Close to home, yet offering a remarkable cross-section of game, this is the Fraser Plateau—one of BC’s most versatile and productive hunting regions.
This territory begins roughly 20 kms west of Quesnel and stretches across 1,500 square kms, giving you all the room in the world to roam. A mix of ranchland, log blocks, forest, and classic BC bush creates ideal habitat for a wide variety of species.
Spring Black Bear: Black bears thrive here, especially with those lush green ranch fields they love to forage in. Spring season is productive, exciting, and accessible.
Moose: If you’re after moose, there’s enough here to keep you busy year after year. With 25 moose in 5 years, this area suits both seasoned hunters and new outfitters wanting a solid, reliable moose quota with additional species to round out the business. There is no antler restriction on moose, with moose up to 55" having been taken.
Deer: A healthy population of both whitetail and mule deer wander through fields and logging cuts. Late season especially brings them out in force as they search for food—no need to look far.
Predators: Where you find ungulates, you’ll find cats. Early winter brings strong cougar opportunity, and by mid-winter you’ll be taking lynx, bobcat and wolves—excellent add-on hunts to extend your season.
Fishing & Accommodation: Of course, hunting isn’t the only game in town. This territory includes Puntataenkut and Puntchsakut Lakes with access to more superb rainbow trout lakes and streams, perfect for anglers of all ages. There are also opportunities to rent or purchase cabins in the area—ideal for fall hunters and spring bear clients, without competing with summer fishermen.
Access: No horses required. Most of the area is accessible by truck thanks to an extensive network of logging roads and trails.
