N. Vancouver Island Trapline
Listing Realtor

Here is trapline on Vancouver Island – these do not come up often! Actually, in the 10 + yrs of selling traplines, I believe this is my first on the island!
This line is located west of Port Hardy on the far northwestern edge of the island. It borders Cape Scott Park on the north, with a very small portion of the Park falling within the line. This line has San Josef Bay just to the west of it, within walking distance, and it looks spectacular; sandy beaches with San Josef River running into the bay. The trapline just falls short of Holberg Inlet on the east side which is where you will find the small community of Holberg. The trapline takes in the drainage of San Josef River providing fantastic fishing opportunities.
Lots of great critters here with the potential to build a cabin. No cabin or cabin site registered, although the owner has picked out a couple of spots that would make for good cabin locations. In the past the trapper has had a contract for trapping beaver and this may be potential revenue for the new owner. There is good road access throughout the line for trapping and exploring.
I don’t expect this one to last very long at all, so do not delay!
The tiny village of Holberg sits at the most westerly end of Holberg Inlet. Access to this community is via a 50 km gravel logging road leading west from Port Hardy. In its early days Holberg existed as a floating camp, at one time the world’s largest, for forestry workers in the area. Logging operations are completely land-based here today.
Holberg is the last stop for backpackers tackling the Cape Scott or North Coast Trail. Holberg includes a pub and has a population of 15.
