Tarpon Caye in Belize
Listing Realtor

What a cool opportunity! Here is a small, intimate resort sitting on 1.3 acres on a private island 15 miles off the coast of Placencia, in south-central Belize. Tarpon Caye is located in the famed Victoria Channel, known as ‘Permit Alley’. It is literally ground zero to miles and miles of pristine flats fishing and Tarpon habitat. Step out of your cabin into the water and throw your line in. It does not get any better than this!
The picturesque setting is within 6 miles of the second longest barrier reef in the world. Belize is famed as the ‘Permit capital of the world’ with hundreds of square miles of exquisite fly fishing grounds. In addition to this, the lagoon side of the island hosts a resident population of 10-40 pound baby Tarpon with larger specimens coming through during the annual Tarpon migrations.
The property is about as picturesque as you can get and consists of a lodge, four guest cabanas, staff quarters, manager quarters and outdoor pizza oven palapa. The entire resort is run off of a large solar system. Three of the private cabanas sit right over the Caribbean Sea with a two-bedroom cabana set back just off the beach on the southeast corner of the property. All cabanas offer breathtaking views of the Caribbean Sea and just wait until you see the sunrise! Wake up in the morning, grab a cup of coffee and you just may witness rays, permit, and tarpon frolicking right off the beach.
Of course, the island provides much more than fishing: kayaking and snorkelling are some of the other favourites. Really just being here is a treat in itself.
This is an operational business and is being sold turn-key and being seconds away from world class tarpon fishing or minutes from permit and schools of bonefish, it really does not get any better than this! The best part?! You have the island to yourself and guests! Waking up to the best fly fishing in Belize at your doorstep sounds pretty good to me!
