Can you say cats?! You betchya! This trapline has some of the best bobcat and lynx BC has to offer. Located W/SW of Kamloops with very diversified climate/vegetation mix. This is a ruggedly beautiful part of BC with vistas stretching in every direction. This offering consists of approximately 355 sq. kms. stretching from the Thompson River in the lowlands to higher ground speckled with fir, spruce and pine forests. It spans approximately 15 kms of river frontage (the complete north and west boundary of the line) and let me remind you this is some of the best Steelhead fishing available, not to mention Chinook and Sockeye. This area is also home to some of the best trophy trout lakes in BC.
There are no cabin sites on this line which allows the new owner the opportunity to pick sites which will afford them enjoyment for years to come.
The meat and potatoes of this line are its cats. Where it really shines though is bobcat. These cats are almost always top lot. There is also ample access and trails allowing ease of use for the new owner.
This is certainly one of the best located traplines in BC for access from the interior or lower mainland while not sacrificing quality. This line has a lot going for it between location, access, animals, and recreational opportunities. Get the family out there and enjoy throughout all of the seasons!

The Thompson River is a large tributary of the Mid Fraser River. The section from the mouth of Kamloops Lake to Spences Bridge offers trout and salmon fishing in the summer, and steelhead fishing in the fall. Its rainbow trout are known to eagerly take both large dry flies and nymphs, making this a popular destination for fly fishing enthusiasts between July and September. Camping is available along parts of the river, and it is easy to combine your fishing trip with other activities such as swimming and biking.
Depending on the river level, summer trout fishing can be productive as early as mid July. Freshet typically occurs until early summer so the river level can be high. If clarity is reasonably good, don't be discourage by the high river level, as trout will simply feed closer to shore in calmer waters. Trout fishing can be done until the river closes in late September, but fishing typically slows down in August due to fishing pressure and possibly lower river level.
When openings granted, anglers also have the opportunities to catch chinook and sockeye salmon. This fishery usually occurs in August and part of September.
The famous Thompson River steelhead fishery usually begins in October, but announcements of the opening are usually made in the last minute so you need to check the ministry's website for updates.
